survey markers
Property boundary indicators
Survey markers are permanent objects placed by surveyors to mark precise geographic points—typically property corners, boundaries, or reference positions for mapping.
They range from metal discs set in concrete to iron rods driven into the ground.
Also called survey monuments or benchmarks.
Disturbing or removing survey markers is illegal in most jurisdictions: We found an old survey marker at the corner of the lot.
