supervised visits
Watched family contact
Supervised visits are court-ordered meetings between a parent and child that take place in the presence of a third party—typically a social worker, family member, or professional monitor.
Courts mandate supervision when there are concerns about a parent's ability to safely care for a child, often in custody disputes involving allegations of abuse, neglect, or substance abuse.
The arrangement allows parent-child contact while protecting the child's welfare: The judge ordered supervised visits until he completed anger management.
