superannuated
Too old now
Superannuated means too old for work or use—retired, outdated, or obsolete.
A superannuated employee has been pensioned off; superannuated equipment belongs in a museum.
The word carries a slightly formal or literary tone: superannuated ideas about gender roles, a superannuated professor emeritus.
It can be gently humorous when applied to people who aren't quite ready to be put out to pasture.
