sugar season
Sap harvesting time
Sugar season is the period in late winter to early spring when maple sap flows and is collected to make maple syrup.
The season typically runs from February through April in northeastern North America, when freezing nights and warming days create the pressure that drives sap up through maple trees.
We tap about fifty trees during sugar season.
