striped tail
Banded rear extremity
A striped tail is a tail marked with alternating bands of color, characteristic of certain animals—most iconically the raccoon, but also lemurs, some cats, and various other species.
The pattern often serves as camouflage or species recognition: The raccoon's striped tail disappeared into the underbrush.
