street piano
Public outdoor instrument
A street piano is a piano placed in a public space—a park, train station, sidewalk, or plaza—for anyone to play.
Cities install them as public art or community engagement projects, often painted or decorated.
The instruments invite spontaneous performance from passersby: Someone was playing Chopin on the street piano outside the library.
