step test
Cardio endurance measure
A step test is a cardiovascular fitness assessment in which a person repeatedly steps up onto and down from a raised platform at a set pace, usually timed to a metronome.
Heart rate is measured during or after the exercise to gauge aerobic capacity.
The Harvard Step Test is the most widely known version.
Physical education classes and military fitness programs commonly use step tests because they require minimal equipment.
