step-uncle

Mom's stepbrother, perhaps

A step-uncle is the stepbrother of one's parent, or the husband of one's parent's stepsister.

The relationship arises through marriage rather than blood: when a grandparent remarries, their new spouse's sons become step-uncles to existing grandchildren.

Like other step-relationships, the term describes family connections formed through remarriage rather than biological descent.
