steel-cut
Blade-sliced, not flattened
Steel-cut describes oats or other grains that have been chopped into pieces with steel blades rather than rolled flat.
Steel-cut oats have a chewier texture and nuttier flavor than rolled oats, and they take longer to cook: I make steel-cut oats on weekends when I have time.
