starter battery
Engine's first spark
A starter battery is a rechargeable battery designed to deliver a short, powerful burst of current to start an engine—typically in cars, trucks, and boats.
Unlike deep-cycle batteries meant for sustained discharge, starter batteries are optimized for brief high-amperage output: The starter battery was dead, so we had to jump the car.
Also called a cranking battery.
