star turns

Star turns are the standout performances or performers in a show—the moments or people who draw the most attention and applause.

The term comes from variety theater, where the star would take a "turn" on stage.

Now it applies broadly to anyone stealing the spotlight: The film featured star turns from several veteran actors.

In British usage, it can also mean someone's signature party trick or best routine.
