stinkers

Rotten little scoundrels

Stinkers are things or people that are notably bad, offensive, or disappointing.

A movie can be a stinker if it fails critically and commercially; a person might be called a stinker if they behave badly or play a mean trick.

That last exam was a real stinker.

The term carries a tone of informal disapproval, often with a hint of affection when applied to mischievous children or pets.

Literally, stinkers are simply things that smell bad.
