star party
Nighttime astronomy meetup
A star party is a gathering of amateur astronomers who meet at a dark location away from city lights to observe celestial objects together.
Participants typically bring telescopes and share views of planets, nebulae, and galaxies: The astronomy club hosts a star party every new moon.
Star parties range from informal local meetups to large organized events lasting several days.
