squat toilets
Crouch-and-go facilities
Squat toilets are toilets designed for use in a squatting position rather than sitting.
The user crouches over a basin or hole set into the floor.
Common throughout Asia, the Middle East, and parts of Africa and Europe, they remain the norm in many countries where Western-style seated toilets are the exception.
Also called squat pans or Turkish toilets.
