sports game
Teams compete physically
A sports game is a video game that simulates athletic competition—football, basketball, soccer, golf, and the like.
The genre emphasizes realistic gameplay mechanics and often licenses real teams and players: I've been playing the new sports game from EA.
Distinguished from sports simulations that focus on management rather than direct play.
