special screening
Limited audience viewing
A special screening is a showing of a film outside its regular theatrical run, often before wide release or for a limited audience.
Studios hold special screenings for critics, industry insiders, or contest winners.
The term also applies to advance showings for promotional purposes: We got tickets to a special screening of the new Marvel movie.
In medical contexts, a special screening is targeted testing for a specific condition or population.
