smartphone zombies
Phone-absorbed street wanderers
Smartphone zombies are people so absorbed in their phones that they walk obliviously through public spaces, stumbling into obstacles and other pedestrians.
The term captures their shuffling, unseeing gait—heads down, attention elsewhere, moving like the living dead: The crosswalk was clogged with smartphone zombies when the light changed.
