sleep paralysis demon
Bedside shadow figure
A sleep paralysis demon is the menacing presence people sometimes perceive during sleep paralysis—a state of waking immobility where the mind is conscious but the body remains frozen.
Sufferers often report seeing shadowy figures, feeling pressure on their chest, or sensing malevolent entities in the room.
The experience is terrifying but physiologically harmless, caused by disrupted transitions between sleep stages.
