Skyways are elevated pedestrian walkways connecting buildings, especially in cities with harsh winters like Minneapolis, allowing people to move between structures without going outside.
The term also refers to established air travel routes: The skyways over the Atlantic are busy year-round.
A skyway may additionally be an elevated highway.
