skid steers
Zero-turn construction vehicles
Skid steers are compact, maneuverable construction vehicles with lift arms that can accept various attachments—buckets, forks, augers, brushes.
The name comes from how they turn: the wheels on each side are locked in sync, and steering happens by driving the left and right sides at different speeds, causing the machine to skid into turns.
Their small footprint makes them useful in tight spaces where larger equipment won't fit: We rented a skid steer to clear the backyard.
