Heavy asphalt flatteners
Road rollers are heavy vehicles used to compact soil, gravel, or asphalt during road construction.
The massive cylindrical drums—either smooth for asphalt or studded for soil—flatten and compress material by sheer weight: The road roller made several passes over the fresh pavement.
