ska band
Horns and offbeats
A ska band is a musical group that plays ska—a genre originating in Jamaica in the late 1950s, characterized by offbeat guitar rhythms, prominent brass sections, and an upbeat tempo.
The term often refers specifically to bands from the 1990s ska revival, which blended the style with punk rock: We saw a ska band at the club last night.
