sisal rope
Natural fiber line
Sisal rope is cordage made from fibers of the sisal plant, a species of agave.
It's rough-textured, biodegradable, and relatively inexpensive—commonly used for agricultural bundling, cat scratching posts, and decorative purposes.
Sisal stretches little when wet, making it useful for marine applications, though it's weaker than manila rope and degrades faster in moisture.
