signature phrase

Personal verbal trademark

A signature phrase is a distinctive expression closely associated with a particular person, character, or brand—something they say so often it becomes their verbal trademark.

Comedians have catchphrases, politicians have slogans, and fictional characters have lines fans quote endlessly: His signature phrase was "I'll be back".

The phrase need not be original, just consistently and recognizably theirs.
