side-netting
Net's lateral section
Side-netting is the portion of a goal net along either side post, distinct from the back netting.
In football (soccer), "finding the side-netting" means scoring with a shot angled sharply enough to enter near the post rather than centrally: He curled it into the side-netting from twenty yards.
The term emphasizes precision placement.
