short title
Abbreviated formal address
A short title is an abbreviated or condensed form of a longer official title, used for convenience in citations and references.
Legal documents, academic papers, and government acts often have formal titles running to many words; the short title provides a manageable alternative: The Act may be cited by its short title, the Clean Air Act of 1970.
