shore diving
Beach-entry underwater exploration
Shore diving is scuba diving or freediving conducted by entering the water directly from land—a beach, rocky coastline, pier, or similar access point—rather than from a boat.
It requires divers to navigate entry and exit through surf, rocks, or shallow areas: The reef is accessible by shore diving from the public beach.
Shore diving is generally less expensive than boat diving and allows more flexibility in timing.
