sermonise
Lecture on ethics
To sermonise is to deliver a sermon or, more commonly, to lecture someone in a moralizing way.
The word usually carries a negative connotation—implying the speaker is preachy, self-righteous, or tedious: He sermonised about the dangers of social media while checking his phone.
