sergeants mess
NCO dining hall
A sergeants mess is a dining and social facility on a military base reserved for non-commissioned officers of sergeant rank.
Like the officers mess for commissioned officers, it provides meals and a place for informal gathering among peers of similar rank.
The term is more common in British and Commonwealth armed forces than in American usage.
