sen
Hundredth of ringgit
Sen is a monetary unit of very small value used in several Asian countries, including Japan, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
In most of these currencies, a sen is one hundredth of the main unit—one hundredth of a yen, riel, or ringgit.
The term derives from the cent.
In practice, sen coins have largely fallen out of circulation due to inflation rendering them worthless for transactions. (Capitalized Sen is an abbreviation for Senator or Senate.)
