self-isolated
Withdrew from contact
Self-isolated describes someone who has withdrawn from contact with others, typically to prevent spreading illness.
The term gained wide use during the COVID-19 pandemic, when people who were exposed or symptomatic were advised to stay home: I self-isolated for five days after testing positive.
It can also describe voluntary social withdrawal more generally.
