self-actualizing

Realizing one's potential

Self-actualizing describes the process of becoming the fullest version of oneself—developing one's potential, pursuing meaningful goals, and living authentically.

The term comes from psychology, particularly Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs, where self-actualization sits at the top: She left corporate law for something more self-actualizing.

Someone who is self-actualizing is actively growing toward their highest capabilities rather than merely surviving or meeting external expectations.
