seasonal rhythms
Annual environmental patterns
Seasonal rhythms are the cyclical patterns of change that occur across the year in nature, behavior, or activity.
Animals migrate, plants flower, and humans shift their routines with the seasons.
The term appears in biology, ecology, and discussions of how light and temperature affect living things: Her depression followed seasonal rhythms, worsening each winter.
Also used more loosely for any recurring yearly pattern: the seasonal rhythms of retail sales.
