sealing ring
Joint closure band
A sealing ring is a circular gasket that prevents leakage between joined surfaces, typically where pipes or mechanical parts connect.
O-rings are the most common type.
Sealing rings appear in plumbing, engines, pressure cookers, and countless other applications where fluids or gases must be contained: Replace the sealing ring if the lid won't hold pressure.
