scientistic
Pseudorationally overconfident methodology
Scientistic describes an excessive or misplaced faith in scientific methods, particularly when applied to domains where they may not belong—philosophy, ethics, aesthetics, or questions of meaning.
The term is almost always pejorative, implying that someone treats science as the sole arbiter of truth: His scientistic worldview left no room for art or spirituality.
It critiques not science itself but its overextension.
