sand cats
Saharan small wildcats
Sand cats are small wild cats native to deserts across North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
They have broad heads, large ears set low on the skull, and fur-covered paw pads that insulate against hot sand.
Unlike most cats, they can survive without drinking water, getting moisture from prey.
They're solitary, nocturnal, and rarely seen in the wild.
