sample chapter
Book teaser section
A sample chapter is a portion of a book made available to potential readers or publishers before the full work is released or purchased.
Authors submit sample chapters with book proposals to give agents or editors a taste of their writing.
Retailers and publishers offer sample chapters as previews: I downloaded a sample chapter before buying the novel.
