ruminator

One who mulls

A ruminator is someone who ruminates—either literally chewing cud, as cattle do, or figuratively turning thoughts over repeatedly in the mind.

The latter sense dominates: He was a chronic ruminator, replaying every conversation for days.

In psychology, a ruminator dwells on negative thoughts in ways that can worsen anxiety or depression.
