rostering

Planning work schedules

Rostering is the process of creating and managing work schedules, assigning employees to shifts, duties, or time slots.

The term appears most often in British, Australian, and New Zealand English, where roster is the standard word for what Americans usually call a schedule: The manager spent Friday afternoon rostering next week's shifts.
