roll call votes
Named ballot counts
Roll call votes are votes in a legislative body where each member's position is individually recorded.
The clerk calls out names and each legislator responds yea, nay, or present.
Unlike voice votes, roll call votes create a public record of how each representative voted: The bill passed on a roll call vote of 218 to 212.
They're often demanded for controversial measures to put members on record.
