right wings
Conservative political factions
Right wings are the politically conservative factions within parties, governments, or movements.
The term comes from seating arrangements in legislative assemblies, where conservatives traditionally sat to the presiding officer's right.
A party may have moderate and right wings: The bill faced opposition from the party's right wing.
Also refers literally to the right-side wings of birds, aircraft, or buildings. (See also right-wing.)
