revelling

Partying with abandon

Revelling is indulging in lively enjoyment, often with drinking, dancing, or boisterous celebration: They spent the night revelling in the streets after the victory.

The word suggests uninhibited pleasure, sometimes to excess.

One can also revel in something more quietly—taking deep satisfaction in it: She was revelling in her newfound freedom.

The spelling with double L is British; American English uses reveling.
