resensitizing
Making receptive again
Resensitizing is restoring sensitivity after it has been lost or diminished.
In medicine, resensitizing can mean making cells or organisms responsive again to a drug or stimulus they had become tolerant to: The treatment worked by resensitizing tumors to chemotherapy.
More broadly, it describes reawakening awareness or emotional responsiveness: The documentary succeeded in resensitizing viewers to suffering they had grown numb to.
