refurbs

Fixed-up used goods

Refurbs is informal shorthand for refurbished items—products that have been restored to working condition after being returned, damaged, or previously used.

The term appears most often in electronics retail, where refurbs offer a cheaper alternative to buying new: I got a refurb laptop for half the price.

Refurbs may come with limited warranties and cosmetic imperfections but are generally tested to meet original specifications.
