recycling symbols
Chasing arrows pictograms
Recycling symbols are standardized icons indicating whether and how materials can be recycled.
The most recognizable is the triangular chasing arrows, sometimes containing a number identifying plastic type.
Other symbols indicate recyclability in specific programs, compostability, or instructions to check local guidelines.
Look for the recycling symbol on the bottom of the container.
