reaggravating

Irritating an injury anew

Reaggravating means aggravating again—making something worse after it had improved, or irritating anew.

Most often applied to injuries: I reaggravated my knee playing basketball.

The prefix re- emphasizes that the condition had begun to heal before the setback.

Less commonly, it can mean annoying someone again after tensions had eased.
