Waterproof head covering
A rainhat is a hat designed to keep the head dry in wet weather, typically made of waterproof or water-resistant material.
Unlike umbrellas, rainhats leave hands free: She grabbed her rainhat before heading out into the drizzle.
The term is somewhat old-fashioned; modern equivalents are often called rain hats (two words) or simply waterproof hats.
