push pole
Boat-moving stick
A push pole is a long pole used to propel a shallow-draft boat by pushing against the bottom of a body of water.
Common in marshes, flats, and other shallow areas where motors are impractical or prohibited, push poles allow quiet movement ideal for fishing or wildlife observation: He stood on the platform and worked the push pole through the mangroves.
