progressive school
Student-centered learning institution
A progressive school is an educational institution emphasizing student-centered learning, critical thinking, and hands-on experience over rote memorization and rigid curricula.
Progressive schools typically encourage creativity, collaboration, and individual development rather than standardized testing: The progressive school let students design their own projects.
The approach traces to early 20th-century educational reform movements.
