pret-a-porter

Factory-made fashion clothing

Prêt-à-porter is French for "ready to wear"—clothing manufactured in standard sizes and sold finished, as opposed to haute couture made to individual measurements.

The term entered English fashion vocabulary to describe designer clothing that's mass-produced rather than custom-fitted: The collection debuted at Paris prêt-à-porter week.

Often appears without the accents.
